In Term 2, we completed four Houdini tutorial sessions. The first two focused on introducing the software—covering its interface, core tools, and fundamental node-based workflows. Having used Houdini consistently for the past two years, I found these sessions to be a valuable refresher, reinforcing my understanding of the software’s structure and its capabilities at a foundational level.
During these tutorials, we first created a procedural vase and then simulated it being shattered by a bullet using the RBD Bullet Solver node. I particularly enjoyed these sessions, as they gave me the opportunity to revisit and strengthen essential techniques, while also filling in gaps in my knowledge that I may have previously overlooked.
Our third and fourth sessions were on a more advanced level. Even after using Houdini a lot before, I still found these challenging and a little bit complicated, which was very enjoyable for me.
